Jhelum: Today Is The 50th Day Of Martyrdom Of Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed Nishan Haider, Who Defended The Motherland By Sacrificing His Life.
The 50th Martyrdom Day of Major Muhammad Akram, who set a high example of courage and bravery in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, is being observed today. On the occasion of Major Muhammad Akram’s Martyrdom Day, a special function was held at his memorial by the 23rd Division to pay homage to him. While Brigadier Amir Mohammad Mumtaz and the heirs of the martyrs laid flowers at the memorial, important aspects of the personality of the martyr were highlighted.
Major Muhammad Akram was born on April 4, 1938 in Gujrat district. He was commissioned in the Pakistan Army in 1963. He was martyred on December 5, 1971 while fighting against the enemy on the front lines of Hali area of East Pakistan.
A memorial and library was built in Jhelum to pay homage to Major Mohammad Akram where family members gather on the day of his martyrdom. Also remembered by title.
