Bad Weather Kills 21 Marathons In China

BEIJING: Bad Weather In China Has Killed At Least 21 People In A Race.

According to a foreign news agency, 21 people who took part in a marathon in a mountainous area in China’s Gansu Province lost their lives due to bad weather. There were 172 people in the marathon that suddenly the weather became very bad and after strong winds in the area. Heavy rain and hail began to fall, marathon organizers called for help and sent a rescue team to the area, which brought 18 people back safely.

According to Chinese media, shortly after the weather worsened, the administration called off the race and sent more rescue workers to the area, leaving 151 people safe but five injured, who were taken to hospital. Rescue operations are still underway in the area, but the temperature has dropped further, causing difficulties.
