S-400 Missile System: India Began Installing Along The Pakistani Border

New Delhi: India Has Started Installation Of S-400 Defense System Acquired From Russia. The First Installation Of S-400 Air Defense System Is Being Carried Out In Punjab Sector Near Pakistan Border.

India’s leading broadcaster NDTV and The Euro-Asia Times have reported that the first squadron of the Indian Air Force is being deployed in the Punjab sector which is capable of operating a missile defense system.

According to Indian media reports, the batteries of the installed air defense system S-400 are so powerful that they can easily withstand any possible threat from Pakistan and China.

According to media reports, all the missile equipment for the installation of the system is being transported by sea and air routes and it will not take long.

With reference to the Indian defense establishment, the media has claimed that the arrival of the first batch of Russian-made air defense system S-400 will be completed by the end of this year, after which it will be operational in just a few weeks.

It should be noted that the United States had expressed its displeasure with India over the purchase of S-400 defense missile system from Russia but it not only ignored the warning but also trained several officers of its air force in Russia to operate the system. According to media reports, more Air Force personnel will now be trained in India.

According to media reports, the installation of the S-400 surface-to-air defense system will enable India to target enemy aircraft and ships from a distance of 400 km.

It should be noted that the missile system that India has purchased consists of four different systems. It has a range of 250 km in medium range and 120 km in short range. It also has the capability to intercept enemy warplanes, ballistic missiles and AWACS aircraft from a distance.

The International News Agency reported last month that Russia had begun supplying the S-400 defense system to India in November.

Reuters reported that the supply of Russian defense systems put India at risk of being banned by the US under US law of 2017 aimed at preventing countries from buying Russian military equipment. Is.

It is to be noted that the United States had warned Turkey against purchasing the same system which was completely ignored by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoانan.

India has bought the defense system from Russia for a whopping  5.5 billion Dollars, according to international news agencies.

Agreements were signed in 2018 for five 5.5 billion Dollars long-range surface-to-air missile systems, which India says are needed to counter the threat from China. ۔

It may be recalled that India is facing various financial sanctions from the United States under the Countering American Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA).
