Washington: The United States And Other Countries Have Sharply Criticized The Taliban Over Reports Of Extrajudicial Killings, Disappearances And Torture Of Former Afghan Military Personnel.
According to the International News Agency, the United States, Britain, the European Union, Australia and other countries, including Japan, have expressed concern over the Human Rights Watch report which revealed the killing of former Afghan military personnel.
These countries strongly condemned the Taliban’s move, saying they were deeply concerned about reports of extrajudicial killings of ex-servicemen. It is unfair to punish ex-servicemen without trial.
Other countries, including the United States, demanded in a statement that there be a transparent inquiry into the incident and that those responsible be identified.
It should be noted that Human Rights Watch had revealed in its report that the Taliban had killed or disappeared 47 Afghan military officers and personnel who had surrendered or been arrested after taking power without being brought to justice.
There has been no reaction from the Taliban government in this regard so far.
